Kushner Leads Mideast Peace Envoy. Will He Be A Dealmaker?
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
What’s the story?
Presidential advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner will arrive in Israel Wednesday night to lead a delegation hoping to restart peace talks between Israel and Palestine.
Currently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is embroiled in a corruption scandal. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is dealing with a long-term split that has recently widened between his leadership in the West Bank and Hamas leaders in Gaza. It is unclear if both leaders’ domestic concerns will leave them space to focus on a peace deal.
Kushner is joined on the delegation by deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and Middle East envoy Jason D. Greenblatt.
What do you think?
Is Kushner the right person to lead a renewed Mideast peace effort? Do you support the two-state solution or do you have some other idea of what type of deal should be struck?
