Presidential advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner will arrive in Israel Wednesday night to lead a delegation hoping to restart peace talks between Israel and Palestine.
Currently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is embroiled in a corruption scandal. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is dealing with a long-term split that has recently widened between his leadership in the West Bank and Hamas leaders in Gaza. It is unclear if both leaders’ domestic concerns will leave them space to focus on a peace deal.
Kushner is joined on the delegation by deputy national security adviser Dina Powell and Middle East envoy Jason D. Greenblatt.
Is Kushner the right person to lead a renewed Mideast peace effort? Do you support the two-state solution or do you have some other idea of what type of deal should be struck?Related Reading:

He's not a diplomat, he's a slumlord. Completely unqualified for his position, just like his father in law.
Kushner managed to irritate almost everybody last time the kid tried to play envoy. We should consider his trip a victory if he managed to NOT trigger a widespread shooting war.
What in the world qualifies him to negotiate peace. NOTHING
He has no business being there he is not a diplomat. The President needs to fully staff the diplomatic department.
He lied repeatedly on clearance forms. forms. Each offense is 5 yrs in prison. Why does Kush still have clearance? Why is he in our government? Kushner must removed from our government.
He's a kid who has never been in govt service, has no experience in foreign or international affairs and he gets assigned to establishing peace in Israel?! That's like assigning me to run Exxon while Tillerson is away or coach the Miami Dolphins.
Funny how he and his wife haven't said one word about the racist remarks made by the Liar in Chief. Yet, here he is being the good lap dog, doing big daddy's bidding in Israel. Just goes to show he's complicit and has no qualms about big daddy's racism. I hope the leaders in Israel tell him to get the hell out of their country and never come back. What a pathetic hypocrite.
This is a joke, right? Oh it's not? Slum dog slumlord telling other people how to behave in their countries Pathetic
Why not Kushner? He has the ear of the President. Past career politicians and diplomats have had no lasting success. Give it a shot! If something positive happens GOOD.
I find it unconscionable that an unqualified real estate developer with no global diplomatic experience would be sent on this mission during an internal corruption probe on Netanyahu. Maybe they will be able to identify with one another. His clout is lacking. He is negotiating with no power in his corner limited historical knowledge and his own baggage of corruption - embarrassing.
Really?! With all of Mr Kushners years of diplomatic experience and credentials, right?! And to say, why not?... he has the Presidents ear! How's that been working so far? Geeeze?! What next?!
It's terrifying that Kushner has all this responsibility. He's never been successful at anything. He's not a diplomat, he's a son in law. Don't we have laws against nepotism?
Hold on...wait! His passport should be revoked until we determine how many laws he has broken.
Kushner's security clearance SHOULD be revoked!
He's a spoiled brat who needs to have his security clearances revoked immediately. This administration is a joke and an embarrassment. What we seriously need are multiple impeachments.
So far this is a ploy by Trump to get Jared out of Russia investigation and distraction, just like the wall and the pardon. Trump wants to end the investigation by firing or bullying any one he can in his party, directly or indirectly, including the democratic!
Hopefully this trip goes well and we can actually solve the Israeli-Palestinian problem, however Jared Kushner is not the right person for this job and therefore it is most likely that nothing positive will come out of this visit.
Hopefully he's not getting tips from his father-in-law. Because that would be counterproductive.
I hope so & we should give him all of our support. Anyone who badmouths him is an idiot as who doesn’t want to see Israel live in peace. I’m sure some of the young kids, or young liberals who we see all over this site and know so little, but think they know so much....will run their mouths about how much they hate Kushner, bla, bla, bla.
Is this the Onion? I thought this was a serious discussion of real issues not entertainment.
