Talking Taxes: What Do You Think About America's Tax Code?
Join us and spread the word to your community
Congress is poised to take on tax reform, a topic sure to make most everyone’s eyes glaze over. But questions of taxation go back to the very foundations of our country (Boston Tea Party, anyone?) and effect all of us every day of our lives. So it makes sense to brush up on our tax code.
At Countable, we sift through all the news, information, and bills in Congress, and pass the best information on to you. We want to keep you informed and ask you the big questions, so that you are up-to-date on everything when you contact your representatives.
First, let’s start with a big tax policy question. What is paying your fair share? Do you believe that the rich should pay more in taxes? Do you think you pay too much in taxes? Do you believe that a flat-tax is a good idea? Do you believe a progressive tax system is the way to go?
There are many taxes we pay: federal, state, payroll, income, estate, capital gains, and more. They all add up, and can be very confusing. Well, the Wall Street Journal has put together a simple, balanced video that helps explain our complicated tax code.
What do you think?
Tell us in the comments, then use the Take Action to tell your reps!
And STAY TUNED for more information on more tax reform questions! Don’t worry. It’ll be more fun than you think.
