This Week in Congress: The $854 Billion Defense, Labor, Health, and Education “Minibus”
Vote to see how others feel about this issue
The Senate is set to tackle its third bipartisan “minibus” package of appropriations bills this week while the House continues its August recess.
The Senate convenes Monday when it’ll consider amendments to a $854 billion “minibus” funding package that combines its fiscal year 2019 defense appropriations bill with the education, health, and labor funding bill. Over the course of the debate, which may last several days, the Senate will modify the House’s $675 billion defense spending bill to include all the components of its minibus. A passage vote occur later in the week depending on how debate over amendments progresses.
