This Week in Congress: Debating Circuit Court Nominations
Vote to see how others feel about this issue
The Senate returns from its abbreviated August recess to what will likely be a short work week focused on judicial nominations ― both the circuit court nominations that’ll be considered on the floor and the private meetings Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh will be having with senators.
Senators will start their week Wednesday when they’ll take a cloture vote on the nomination of A. Marvin Quattlebaum, Jr. to be U.S. Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit, and potentially on the nomination of Julius Richardson to the same circuit. Confirmation votes could occur on Thursday or the following week, depending on whether senators insist on using all of the 30 hours of post-cloture debate or yield back time.
The House is on recess and will return Tuesday, September 4th.

Schedule subject to change. All times Eastern.
