Senators to Consider Strike on North Korea

by Countable | 4.26.17

All 100 members of the U.S. Senate have been called to the White House for a rare, classified briefing on events in North Korea. Senators confirmed to Countable today that the discussion will center on the military movements and weapons program of the country's erratic leader, Kim Jong-Un, and the possibility of a U.S. preemptive strike.

Do you think the United States should take preemptive military action against North Korea? Take this survey and tell your representatives and social networks what you think.

Think very clearly about this. Is this really to ensure peace or is it to stroke Trump's macho impulses? Think of the consequences of damage to South Korea, international relations ( the United States will be isolated, not praised ), the world economy, and the human costs of major war. Forget your tax cuts and priorities. You will need a lot more to do this!

Do not start a war because of a character failure of an illegitimate president and a dictator. Do your jobs and stop putting America and Americans in danger!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO WAR!!! We've coexisted (in a manner of speaking) all these years with North Korea. What has changed, other than our rhetoric and bluster, to get us to this point? Let's not play into the hands of a narcissistic, bad hair, insecure, immature leader (and the leader of North Korea) and his need to "strut" and make himself look important while leading us into WWIII.

We honestly cannot afford a war. It is senseless, and only elevated tensions because of an extremely poor administration. Secondly, going to war will bring war against Russia, Syria, and Iran. All allied with North Korea presently.

No preemptive strike on North Korea. As a citizen, I do not want to send more citizens to war and murder innocents there to force regime change. Too many innocent people will be caught in the crossfire and the situation is a bit more complex than our president can likely handle. If this spreads, we then deal with innocent casualties in South Korea and China, if not other nearby countries as well. It would be irresponsible to go to war with North Korea. Kim Jong Un is a horrifying individual and I hope our larger, unified government bodies can do something to help those oppressed under his totalitarian regime, but going to war will only cause more damage. No War.

i will be protesting this in the streets. visual representation is needed. it is vital, it will stir this pot. if the united states takes part in a nuclear war all hope is lost, in my eyes. correct me if i'm wrong -- we the people should take action.. now.

This is bully behavior on the part of the US government. It is reminiscent of schoolyard tactics where perpetrators exhibit their low self-esteem by pushing down on others. This is NOT making America great anymore than a schoolyard bully is made great by using the same preemptive tactics.

Please do not vote to preemptively strike North Korea before all diplomatic and economic avenues have been exhaustive. Strike to prevent imminent threats to our Nation, not against what may or may not happen.

No. A million times no. North Korea has taken no real action. They have done the same blustering and posturing for over 60 years. Let them keep starving themselves to death with pipe dreams but do not use a pre-emotive military strike. That is not our right.

Impeach this unqualified president before he ruins everything. He has done enough damage in international relationship and divided this country more then anybody ever! Enough is enough! He doesn't know nor care about the consequences as long as he can show off his power.

What the hell! Are you fucking kidding me? A preemptive strike against North Korea? Are you all insane? You all must be delusional to think this is a good option! Diplomacy is what is needed here. Not throwing us into another war that no one wants or wants to pay for with a country as unstable a leader as we currently have. I swear y'all must be insane.

Without strong leadership, military action on North Korea will fail - Trump will lead us to the brink of war and destruction.

Absolutely not! We do not start wars. There needs to be probable cause for a military action and even more for a war. No no no!
