The Elite 8 of Countable's Bill Acronym Bracket

by Countable | Updated on 3.23.18

In honor of March Madness and politicians’ penchant for the pithy bill acronyms that have grown in popularity since the passage of the USA PATRIOT Act, we’ve put together a tournament in which you — Countable users — will choose the best bill acronym of the 115th Congress

With the first round and Sweet 16 in the books, we’ve got some great matchups for you as the top seeds from each of the bracket’s four regions have advanced to the competition’s Elite 8. Voting will be open until midnight Monday, and winners will square off in the Final Four later this week. May the best bill acronym win!

Look at the young people and their supporters who are crowding the Mall today. Then, tell me that Congress doesn’t have more important business to do! Shame on the adults who were elected to safeguard the interests of ALL Americans for leaving the voice of reason to the lives of young people who should have music, fun and youthful abandon on their minds rather than the lives of dead innocents to think about. 😢

After talking with a teacher of our school system, they believe posting armed police or arming teachers would be a waste of money. It would be better if schools hired more councilors. If these individuals who committed these crimes would have been listened to to begin with, this may never happened. But there is not enough time for teachers to listen to each students issues like a councilor can. I really feel we need a better education school board who thinks more of their students rather than paying a superintendent more money than the governor makes. More councilors maybe the answer rather than armed personnel.

We the People are sick and tired of the russian backed and russian infiltrated NRA politically appropriating OUR Constitution, namely the 2nd Amendment. STOP using a fragment as your tag line. STOP disregarding the context of the writing of the 2nd Amendment. STOP disrespecting our Constitution.

Nothing better to do “Old Timer” ? You and people who share your pathetic opinion are the reason these kids have to try and do this themselves.

You all waste so much time ! No matter how many bills you introduce, Trumps gonna go what he wants or waste time suing everyone, no one can stop him! Congress are all cowards! Just leave everything the way it was and get Trump out of the WH before it’s too late!

Pathetic Cindy? Seems to me you have nothing better to do than call people names and the politicians have nothing better to do than make up silly acronyms. I don’t understand where or how you come up with “kids trying to figure this out for theirselves.” As to your name calling I find myself quoting Mark Twain aka Samuel Clemens, “Tis better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

What an amazing collection of partisan waste and obstructionism. You Democrats should be SO proud! We can only imagine how this country would fare if y'all would use half as much creativity *for* this country as you do against this Administration or heaven forbid, half as much passion and energy for your legal constituents as you do foreign invaders.

You know, if Obama worked as hard at being president as he does on a college basketball bracket, then perhaps our country would not have to be made great again!

Well the rich act like they’re something special. They have excessive money and power. They claim regular citizens are the reason why we’re having all the problems we do. What I notice is it’s the rich who have most of the money, have most of the voice in government, and have most of the laws passed that benefit them. The wealthy have screwed up our nation while pointing the finger at us. It’s misdirection so we’ll fight amongst ourselves while they make themselves richer and us poorer. Why should any of our nations laws benefit them at all? They have lots of money which gives them more freedom than most people will ever have. Our laws should benefit everyone below multimillionaire. As I see it, those with more wealth have a greater responsibility to give back to the nation that has made it possible for them to be rich. Who wants to live in a nation where 99% are poor? Doesn’t that make it less safe for them to live in also?

The crumbs act is about right. That’s all the middle class gets compared to the rich and poor.

I have taughtEnglish/Language Arts in a high school for 26 years. The LAST thing needed are more guns on campuses! How about building PROTECTIVE WALLS around our schools INSTEAD of building one along our border? More than likely it would cost less and save more lives!! HMM ... 🤔 come to think about it, makes too much sense.😵🙄🤯🤬😱😳🤪🤣

We leave the world to young kids and the future is going to look like the "Communist States of America" and that's b/c they think there's but one solution to end violence, micromanage citizens and take their weapons. You know we have had numerous violent crimes committed by NFL players thru out recent years, shall we take away football b/c of the commonality they share? We all know that taking guns from law-biding citizens will not prevent crimes, /c crimes are the result of criminal-mentality not guns.
