House Intel. Committee Finds No Collusion Between Trump Campaign and Russia

What’s the story?
Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee said on Monday that their investigation into Russia meddling is complete, and they’ve found no evidence of collusion between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and Moscow.
The GOP members also broke with the intelligence agency they oversee, claiming Russian President Vladimir Putin was not trying to tip the 2016 election in Trump’s favor.
In January 2017, the FBI, CIA, and NSA concluded: “We assess Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election” and “ developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.”
How did Trump react to the news?
THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE HAS, AFTER A 14 MONTH LONG IN-DEPTH INVESTIGATION, FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF COLLUSION OR COORDINATION BETWEEN THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND RUSSIA TO INFLUENCE THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

What are the Democrats (and one of the Republicans) on the committee saying?
Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the committee, criticized the Republican’s decision: “By ending its oversight role in the only authorized investigation in the House, the majority has placed the interests of protecting the president over protecting the country. And history will judge its actions harshly.”
GOP Rep. Tom Rooney of Florida, a member of the committee, broke ranks with his fellow Republicans, telling CNN “there is evidence” that Russians worked to assist Trump. “Certainly he was helped by the Russian propaganda but I think Russia was just generally trying to hurt everybody.”
What do you think?
Was the House Intelligence Committee premature in ending its investigation? Or is it time for the Senate to wrap up its investigation, too? Do you believe the House’s conclusions over the intelligence community’s findings? Hit Take Action and tell your reps, then share your thoughts below.
