Ending the Gov't Shutdown & Confirming the Fed Chair - This Week in Congress
Join us and tell your reps how you feel!
Both chambers of Congress will vote Monday to end the government shutdown by funding the government through February 8 and reauthorizing the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for six years.
After the vote, the House will likely adjourn for the rest of the week as this was scheduled to be a week where members were back in their home districts.
The Senate is expected to consider several nominations, starting with Jerome Powell to be the Chairman of the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors. It will then consider the nomination of Alex Azar to be Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Sam Brownback to be Ambassador At Large for International Religious Freedom.
