Following a disagreement between the CIA and FBI over evidence of Russia's election-related hacking and how closely the Kremlin was linked to it, the two agencies now agree that Russia intended to help President-elect Donald Trump defeat Hillary Clinton.
The leader of the U.S. intelligence community and FBI Director James Comey have announced that they support the CIA's findings. The FBI had been reluctant to concur with the report, citing a lack of hard evidence showing that Russian officials were "directing" the hackers -- who aren't government employees.
The CIA and FBI also agree that Russia's intervention didn't have a "single purpose," and that aside from boosting Trump the Kremlin hoped to undermine confidence in the U.S. election system.

We do not want him as our President.
First they say no and know say yes to cow tow to Hillary. Just upset we the people picked Trump and everything is being done to override the people's voice period. The Democratic Party and Hillary could not win by cheating and now are making up lies to steal it.
This is unprecedented in American political history, and should be a bipartisan concern. Citizens need to be able to trust democratic institutions. Fully disclosing the scope and findings of the CIA and FBI's investigations is a must, especially for electors prior to 12/19.
Oh well, if the WASHINGTON POST says it, you know it HAS to be true! <sarcasm> The FBI lost all credibility by the way they handled their investigation of Hillary Clinton. The Democommies will stop at nothing to try to undo Mr. Trump's election!
I call BS on the need for a congressional investigation. How about a real independent investigation? One not run by the party in power that benefitted from the havking, and largely owe theircurrent position of power to Vladimir Putin.
There is now uniform agreement that the Russian government, which means Putin himself, engaged on a concerted attack on the democratic process in the US and that the express purpose was to see Donald Trump elected POTUS. Elements of this were known even before the election. Mr. trump also knew of this infiltration by a foreign power prior to the election, but even now dismisses even the possibility that it happened. Not only should we delve deeper into this to determine our vulnerabilities, but also to determine why Mr. Trump is so adamant to defend Russia against the findings of three US policing and intelligence agencies. We citizens deserve to know if our elected officials will put us before their self interests.
Intelligence Officer Who Personally Met the Democratic Email Leaker Confirms Leaker Is with AMERICAN INTELLIGENCE Services by George Washington Dec 12, 2016 5:33 PM The former intelligence analyst, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and chancellor of the University of Dundee, Craig Murray, wrote yesterday: As Julian Assange has made crystal clear, the leaks did not come from the Russians. As I have explained countless times, they are not hacks, they are insider leaks – there is a major difference between the two. *** I know who leaked them. I’ve met the person who leaked them, and they are certainly not Russian and it’s an insider. It’s a leak, not a hack; the two are different things. https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/12/cias-absence-conviction/ In other words, Murray – a close friend of Julian Assange – says he knows for a fact that there were no hacks at all … instead, an American insider leaked the information to Wikileaks. Today, Murray writes: If you set up the super surveillance state, hoovering up all the internet traffic of pretty well everybody, that is not just going to affect the ordinary people whom the elite despise. There is also going to be an awful lot of traffic intercepted from sleazy members of the elite connected to even the most senior politicians, revealing all their corruption and idiosyncracies. From people like John Podesta, to take an entirely random example. And once the super surveillance state has intercepted and stored all that highly incriminating material, you never know if some decent human being, some genuine patriot, from within the security services is going to feel compelled to turn whistleblower. Than [sic] they might turn for help to, to take another entirely random example, Julian Assange. https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/12/obama-loses-war-whistleblowers/ This confirms what the NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, who served as the senior technical director within the agency, who managed six thousand NSA employees, the 36-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency and the NSA’s best-ever analyst and code-breaker, who mapped out the Soviet command-and-control structure before anyone else knew how, and so predicted Soviet invasions before they happened (“in the 1970s, he decrypted the Soviet Union’s command system, which provided the US and its allies with real-time surveillance of all Soviet troop movements and Russian atomic weapons”) – previously said: the leaker was from U.S. intelligence services. And see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MhYoxHuJ3cU https://soundcloud.com/breitbart/nsa-whistleblower-tells-aaron-klein-agency-has-all-of-hillarys-emails And Murray confirmed to Washington's Blog by email that Binney "was on the mark." And see this: https://twitter.com/CraigMurrayOrg/status/808449000521273344 In other words, Russia did not hack the Democratic party emails. Instead, an American intelligence whistleblower leaked them. It wouldn't be the first time. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/08/nsa-whistleblower-nsa-hack-likely-inside-job.html Update: David Swanson interviewed Murray today, and obtained additional information. Specifically, Murray told Swanson that: (1) there were two American leakers ... one for the emails of the Democratic National Committee and one for the emails of top Clinton aide John Podesta; (2) Murray met one of those leakers; and (3) both leakers are American insiders with the NSA and/or the DNC, with no known connections to Russia. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/12/talk-nation-radio-craig-murray-russia-didnt-vincent-emanuele-stopping-pipelines-wars.html And see this: http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/12/64139.html Postscript: As we've pointed out for years, the NSA is collecting all digital communications, including emails, in America. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2013/10/security-expert-the-details-matter-less-and-less-we-have-to-assume-that-the-nsa-has-everyone-who-uses-electronic-communications-under-constant-surveillance.html The NSA then shares this information with numerous other agencies, including the FBI, DEA, etc. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2013/12/former-top-nsa-official-now-police-state.html We've noted that the NSA’s big data collection itself creates an easy mark for hackers. Remember, the Pentagon itself sees the collection of “big data” as a “national security threat” … but the NSA is the biggest data collector on the planet, and thus provides a tempting mother lode of information for foreign hackers. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2013/07/another-problem-with-mass-spying-hackers-might-steal-centralized-data.html http://killerapps.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2013/08/12/irony_alert_pentagon_now_fears_a_big_data_national_security_threat And we've documented that the Obama administration has prosecuted more whistleblowers than all other presidents combined. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2015/05/obama-has-sentenced-whistleblowers-to-31-times-the-jail-time-of-all-prior-u-s-presidents-combined.html It sounds like this witches brew of bad policy is what led to the Democratic email leaks from an insider in the intelligence services. But if anyone wants to try to prove Murray and Binney wrong, it should be easy to check. http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2016/12/tell-russia-hacked-election.html http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-12/intelligence-officer-who-personally-met-democratic-email-leaker-confirms-he-was-amer
This illegitimate election must be opposed at every turn.
This App "Countable" pushing fake news and obviously a propaganda platform. The young people using this app are being lied to.
Fake news from the Washington Post! Plain and simple!
Mr. Corker, please take note, that the entire intelligence community is not biased or incorrect and the president elect came to be via foreign interference.
Russian hacking to influence our election process is unsubstantiated. That the FBI and CIA now agree shows just how much arm-twisting by the administration has been going on and just how politicized these agencies have become.
17 government agencies believe that Russia interfered with the election. We should not be even questioning whether or not there should be an investigation.
This app is biased and being used as propaganda with many untrue statements. Get your information elsewhere.
This is a clear threat against our most basic values and systems in America. Leave no stone unturned and take a stand!!
Dear NC representatives, I believe the American people have the right to know the level of interference Russia had in the election. This should be as thoroughly investigated as Benghazi, if not more scrutinizing.
What a blow job he is. Russia did not do anything. This is only to again undermine this country. I would not believe this loser ever sais. He does not even know who he is as a man. Maybe he is a tranny like Michelle Obama.
The electoral college needs to know what the FBI and CIA have discovered. Too many people are questioning the election.
Sorry FBI, but what you say I don't trust. When you find Killary to not be guilty, then when she loses you want to say the Rooskies helped Trump? Get outa here with that garbage
lies or hacks what's the difference they all hacks. ok. peter.
