This is the first bill on the topic that addresses the wishes of over 90% of the population to have GMOs labeled. It makes no claims of safety for or against, and allows consumers to make their own decisions about what to feed their families. Further, it addresses concerns that a patchwork of labeling laws might result in higher costs. Whether or not you are personally concerned about GMOs, withholding information from the public had never been a good idea. We, as Americans, have the right to know what we are eating.
