This bill appears to be the reform the IRS system needs. Unfortunately, it will take time to implement it and it will implement the recent tax bill that was passed. Hopefully, some preliminary evaluation of of the software and hardware evaluations have been made to save some time and the new IRS system will implement the new tax law as fairly as it can be. I believe the new tax law is bad for the country and will only accelerate the shift of wealth to the 0.1%. Data sharing is a concern, but today there is enough understanding of how systems should be configured to prevent a breach. I am not concerned. They just have to be properly implemented. The IRS has to have the freedom to solicit bids from the best software and hardware vendors, free from political cronyism. Funding is critical. If the republicans want this done correct, they have to open the pocketbook not put stupid constraints on how this is done. This money will be well spent. As for those who just want to abolish the IRS, a democracy/republic is shared governing system, the people run it and we all have to pay for the system and mechanisms that supports our government. The IRS is the system to collect the money based on the tax laws. The problem is tax law which unfavorably distributes the burden.
