We should not be investigating hard earned pension money into the companies of foreign adversaries such as China and Russia. Whether these pension managers realize it or not, this is a way to leverage the country passively. Think about it, a foreign company decides to withhold or make changes to the market, influencing the economy and knowingly hurting stock prices and the investments of countries like the U.S. that they know have made investments. The company may be government sponsored anyway so it will ultimately be okay, but not before bleeding out these investments enough to hurt the pension funds. These countries have the same ability to backtrace investors as we do, so they know where the money is coming from. If you’re going to close national security loopholes you might as well address this one too.
