Family planning has been shown to be crucial to a family's social and economic viability. Furthermore, allowing families to avail themselves of birth control so that pregnancies can be planned out leads to less incidents of low birth weight, preterm birth, and small size for gestational age. This is simply an attempt to deny funds to women's health providers who provide abortions. The fact is that federal and state funds already are not allowed to be used for abortions. Statistics show that since the enactment of the ACA giving women access to birth control there have been fewer abortions in our country. By tampering with the distribution of funds, access to women's health services could be negatively impacted. Please vote no.
