This is common sense. Federal agencies mandate that grant recipients make the products of their work accessible to the public. Government agencies have made efforts to make public information available; current internet resources can be inconsistent across the federal government and difficult to interpret for the average citizen. A central resource that is consistent and easy to use would offer more transparency to the taxpaying public. However, right now, the public has access to librarians with expertise in government documents, ready and willing to help find information.
