I read a lot of "feel good" comments here about helping prisoners. The fact is some people can't be helped or don't want help. These same people think ISIS terrorist would stop killing if we just hug them. Maybe in unicorn land but not in reality.Yes, prisoners should have basic health needs met and if deemed necessary mental help. But prison is not a daycare. It's a way to keep people who are a danger to society off the streets. I believe in second chances for those who deserve it. However, I don't think taxpayers should foot the bill for additional services when we are just treating the symptom and not the problem.
