Being a union boilermaker and understanding the process and seeing the process of turning coal into energy, I maybe see this in a different light. Just speaking to one aspect of a carbon tax. Fossil fuels are dying folks, this isn’t the industrial revolution coal age. This is fact, as I understand and see firsthand. Coal is fucking filthy, hazard laden, and inefficient. That’s truth.Although “green energy” is safer cheaper and way more efficient, people have built empires of dirty antique ways of making energy. That is why things don’t change when it comes to energy production. There has to be a point and time where we as a people reach a tipping point to change our way of doing things. I would say this, things can and will change once we all decide put the effort in and make things happen. Put your money where your mouth is, find a better way, of existence. Because that’s what the first industrial revolution was sparked by. Innovation can save if we take on the responsibility and the burdens , in order to get to the next evolution this is what the cost of innovation is. Carbon tax helps get us all closer to cheaper, cleaner, safer, and environmentally sound more stable forms of energy.
