Yes, we absolutely need term limits for all members of Congress. Sadly the one thing you could get both democrats and republicans to agree on is that our government no longer functions. Too much power is accumulated in too few hands, as for a multitude of reasons, money and influence being two of the big ones, the same politicians get voted in over and over. They then get the power seats on the committees and nothing changes. Let's be brutally honest, if any of the current sitting politicians could have fixed any of our current problems, the problems would be solved. As many of them have been in power for at least two terms, most more, they have all had the opportunity to work together and do their best for the American people. At this point they are all more invested in playing their party's game of keep-a-way from each other and getting enough money in their campaign coffers to continue on the same old adversarial paths. But, I feel sure, just as they can come together to vote themselves raises, to agree that they should have health care and health insurance options different than all disabled low income Americans, and that SSD and SSI is good enough, at an average of $1200 a month, for those same disabled or low income senior Americans but they deserve a very different retirement plan, that they will be able to come together and find themselves way to important for term limits, they will not hesitate to come together, republican and democrat, across party lines, to vote down any measure that has a hint of term limits.
