The argument that laws don't stop the non law-abiding criminals is true. It's also bullshit. If a lit porch light deters some break-ins then we need to light the porch, put out pressure plates that trigger tear gas, put up fences topped with razor wire, & install motion sensing cameras that can see in infra-red. We do this in free form of creating a WORKABLE, USABLE Background check system, enforce the laws we already have, streamline the federal rules that would apply to across state line transactions and transportation of firearms, define CLEARLY what the term "weapons of war" actually means, make it the priority of our nation to have a database that will allows those with mental health care needs to receive the care they need as speedily as possible so they and THE REST OF US are not the recipient of bullets that are the result of the feeling of the moment or a long standing need to suicide by cop & sake as many people as possible with them! Come ON! It's NOT that hard to understand that the more barriers in place are a mere inconvenience to law abiding people but the barriers DO create hoops to jump thru, mountains to climb & oceans to swim for those who are not.
