At what point does the US Treasury become a giant go fund me page for any project that a President (Republican or Democrat) can’t win support for in Congress?
This does have a number of unintended consequences - chief among them is the power of the rich to “purchase” policy. In addition, it raises a number of conflicts of interest that we’ve already seen through corporates and wealthy donors.
For example, could the construction industry “encourage” employees to buy bonds that could result in contracts being awarded to build the wall?
