We need to enact drug addiction needle exchange programs and start looking at opiod addiction as a health issue, not a crime. Having a place where addicts can get their dose (incrementally lowering every time they come in), will give addicts a place to cure their addiction over time. Curing addiction is a lengthy progress. Some have died in the rehabilitation process solely because of 'going cold-turkey'. These programs will help those who want to slow down their drug consumption and adjust to sobriety easier.
