Seems like a possible paradox. I don’t think I’d go as far to call it a bribe, but it seems strange to buy back guns from owners. I don’t mind the idea of restrictions on guns but this seems like an endless process that can almost seem profitable for gun owners. Using those debit cards to cash out and then proceed to buy another, or even multiple guns doesn’t seem like the right solution here. Doesn’t seem monetarily profitable for the gov unless they plan to sell these guns to the military or outsource them in some way. An equilibrium of some sorts, but not necessarily in a positive manner.
