There should be tuition reform for public colleges and universities, but it should not be free. K-12 public education is free and entirely underfunded and not preparing students academically or professionally. College education needs to be high quality and who is to say that if we make it free, it won't become like the let down public k-12 education is? Making sure tuition dollars are spent well is important. At ASU their are sometimes overly extravagant events/pamphlets/free items. If not having those things meant cheaper tuition, I'd be willing to let those go. We need reform, but nothing worth having comes easy as free.
