How is this even a question? If individual citizens are to be held accountable for their actions I should see no reason that a corporation shouldn't be treated thusly. After all, aren't corporations people now? And to those that say there are already protections in place, they are obviously not enough. I say that we should make it so expensive for a corporation who is responsible for a spill that they would have no choice but to make sure that they never happen. If a company cuts back on safety measures to increase profit, which we all know happens, then that profit should be forgot to those who they choose to put at risk.
