This was a difficult “Nay”. Ultimately, I support Israel, and it does seem asinine to fund a country which funds terrorism, but for one, this notion needs to be done across the board, otherwise its message falls completely flat. We have major allies who are known terrorist funders (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc.), yet we’ll still help them financially, militarily, etc.? No, this bill needs to address ALL countries that fund terrorism, not just Palestine. For two, a lack of a viable economy, and thus a future for the people of a country, are the conditions which lead to extremism, so unless this bill could be guaranteed to strictly strike at the specific culprits of this funding, rather than the country as a whole, then it should not be enacted.
