We need to begin a serious effort to examine and identify national program and goals for ways to prepare for the coming effects of technology that will likely eliminate enormous numbers of jobs over a very short period of time, and that could push our economy over a cliff if workers are not prepared. We can design programs that function to bring needed supportive changes to American workers, farmers and lesser skilled service workers who will likely form the bulk of our people to be affected by such change. This seems a possible way to begin this investigation while at the same time addressing issues of income inequality that are fueling the fear and rage that brought the current President to power. What ever program(s) we undertake, however, must have a budget and a plan for re-evaluation at points along the way, as well as some clear idea of where the funding will come from in the budget to allocate for this purpose.
A final evaluation and recommendations for further implementing similar projects or dropping it altogether after a specific operational period must be included in the bill. I urge my legislators to support this bill.
