I see as usual, the asswipes are out in force! Whether you like who’s in office or not, the job of President and Vice President are and can be tremendously difficult! They along with a specialized group of Americans not only have a tremendous amount of secret knowledge concerning federal and global issues and problems. For most of these individuals, this knowledge doesn’t go away at the end of the business day, year or even at retirement! They carry this specialized knowledge with them, 24/7/365 and usually for the rest of their lives. Unlike the President and Vice President, most of these individuals only have their retirement/disability pay and social security or civil service payments if they qualify and whatever the formula one is offset by the other so that they only receive a portion of what was their pre retirement salary. Most of these individuals never had wealthy parents, wealth management managers, didn’t marry into wealthy families, so if they have managed to accumulate and kind of money, it was through brains and sheer hard work. If this is different from Operaman, Blackhawk, the Reagans, Bushes, Roosevelt’s, Hamilton’s, Kennedy’s, then maybe that’s a good thing? If someone can prove without a doubt that they are criminals like drug dealers or foreign agents like former Soviet KGB officials, then maybe they need to be condemned. As far as reducing wealthy or wealthier Presidents and Vice Presidents, this wouldn’t be a fair assessment; they should have to “follow” the same reduction and restrictions that every other American who retires have to accept. This may not be fair, but their retirement benefits are still proportional to their life style. I do however agree that Congress and the Senate need to have these same reductions and restrictions. However, they need to take away their lifetime fringe benefits; no one cares when they are 95 yrs old, who they endorse for their office, 20 yrs after they were voted out of office. WE, the people need to force term limits AND refuse to have anyone say that our opinion or vote DOES NOT count and that we still need to use delegates! This is the 21st century with high speed internet, faxes, televisions, cameras, computers; people not the 18th century! I’m just as American and love our constitution as the next person born, raised and educated in our country, but obviously, our founding fathers didn’t have access or the advantages as we do now. It is time to move into the current century and get rid of the obsolete electoral college and the superior attitudes and voices of the electoral college delegates! Btw, Operaman, Blackhawk and everyone else who seems to overwhelmingly believe that one person and one person alone is the cause of America’s problems, take a trip to Russia, Syria or any number of other PROBLEM countries and see how our problems stack up and quit bitching about one person! I bitch, moan & complain just like the next person, but at least I don’t embarrass myself by putting my ignorance in writing.
