As a single mother. I was forced into the workplace. I am talking in the 70's. Some of the Senators that represent me are young enough to be my child. Which is sad. I was a victim of sexual harassment by a coworker and my supervisor says. He doesn't mean anything by it. I was placed in a position where I transferred out for daytime hours so mr daughter wasn't home alone at night. I had to have surgery, wasn't allowed to go back until I was full duty. Then I wasn't allowed back in my regular position. I was told. They need someone who can do the job. I could do it. He just wanted a guy to work. All my union told me was. If he gets more hours than I did then claim his hours. I should not have to check the schedules. In a long round about way. I am saying. If a woman does a mans work. She should get the same pay. It pains me to say that there are women out there taking jobs away from a man who needs to support his family. But it's a casualty of men not stepping up for a child they fathered. This in turn makes the woman have to step up and be the breadwinner. I know I am going to make some men angry. But the truth hurts.
