I’ve thought about this question all afternoon and read all the comments for and against, and agree with people on both sides of the argument. It’s a controversial proposal, for sure.
In general, I’m against the death penalty. However, there are some cases that, I feel, warrant it: Terrorists, mass murderers, serial killers and those who torture and kill children.
In any event, this bill is unlikely to make it to the floor for a vote, and would be met with great resistance from a growing majority of citizens who oppose the death penalty, no matter the circumstances.
