The cost of college has increased 1000% since the late seventies - one thousand percent. Since we're aware that wages have not increased with such force, something must be done to put college back within reach of average and poor citizens. Even something as simple as free tuition for students whose parents make under a certain reasonable threshold would stand to help millions of kids go school. It seems like as a society in general we will be better off with a more educated society than not, and that opportunities for advanced learning shouldn't be considered a luxury or require massive debt. Additionally, we would do well to reinvigorate vocational learning as well, so that high school graduates have options that they can afford and that will benefit them - not just going to college for college's sake.
