Change is always hard. For many just the idea of change brings about a negative knee-jerk opposition to an idea before possible benefits are even considered let alone weighed against possible disadvantages. There is a phrase present in the summary describing “alternative pre-trial restraint systems” to be pursued and experimented with that do not involve cash bail. That phrase seems to either have not been read, ignored, or dismissed by many oppositional to this bill. I know change is hard, but so is being wealthy when you need to understand/comprehend problems of poverty.
