Middle eastern dependence on US intervention has greatly weakened the military powers of that region which have the potential to serve righteous causes and develop a more advanced military, something that many middle eastern countries (including Kuwait, my mother's native country) have a strong need for. We need to avoid involving ourselves in middle eastern warfare. Our foreign policy has failed. Afghanistan was a necessity. Iraq was beyond what one would call a blunder. Libya is a national embarrassment to us. We need to reduce the cost of military spending (which is more than the next seven countries COMBINED) and instead invest more in diplomatic and trade relations. War is bad for business as a whole, except for arms dealers and oil tycoons. And that is an issue in and of itself which needs to be addressed.
