We all have cellphone and my gosh would we find and push that button in high school if we could... We were bad kids though. I don't think a button would have saved lives in most cases, and generally you want someone to call in order to ask them "what's going on? Should we send the police, ambulance or national guard?" And is this a subscription service? It goes on and on, let teachers have cellphones, and if there is an emergency call 911 and tell them what's up, it's effective and cost effective. If you are afraid that cellphone calls can't be pinpointed there is another bill allowing them to up for vote... And the teacher can say "I'm at xxx school". If you don't have cellphone service that is a problem... Either add phones in the classroom (more versatile and proven than a button) or add a cellphone hot spot on the Internet system. Let's make the best way we ever figured out how to communicate better, not rely on a button.
