The estate tax (or "Death Tax") affects only the wealthiest of the wealthy. A married couple can protect up to $10 million under the current law. We actually need to increase the revenues from the estate tax by lowering the threshold so that those who have accumulated wealth under the protection of our government should have the greatest obligation to return some of that wealth in payment for that protection. As long as there are reasonable tax incentives for donations to charities, more of that wealth will be distributed to those charitable organizations (also protected by the government) that serve our citizenry the most efficiently and democratically in the neighborhoods and communities where it is needed most. Vote Nay on this bill!
