This question brings to mind the Nazi war crimes trials and those who, like Albert Speer, claimed to be reformed and testified against his fellow Nazis. Speer, and many others who "reformed" after the war was lost were punished not at all or very little for having been steeped in Nazi beliefs during the war. With terrorism, as with the Nazis, anyone who could espouse the propaganda of their own group, then just opportunistic afterward, so that they do not have to pay the price for their actions, are not people to trust and do not deserve to get off lightly for condoning the mass extermination and torture for which that their creed stands! The dead demand justice! And they should get it!
