Money itself is not speech. It's crack cocaine for politicians. Support for an issue or candidate may be act or speech, however 'speech involves a speaker, whose motives are integral to understanding the meaning of their speech. We call it 'speech' because it emerges from the mouth or pen of an individual or group of like minded individuals who are motivated by many possible factors. Since this kind of "speech" (money) is currently anonymous, influential in electoral processes, allows those with the most money to be heard loudest, and renders the majority of individuals mute or inaudible, this lack of transparency means those with existing economic power may manipulate at will, lie at will, and formulate the reality most others must react to in the exercise of their putative "equal rights". One man(woman) one vote please. Equal speech or full transparency.
