Do we get one for the victims of capitalism, too? Like my friend who committed suicide because he refused to burden his family with the debts of another heart surgery he couldn’t afford, in one of the worlds richest countries, that doesn’t provide affordable health care or higher education. Or the elected president of Congo our country assassinated because he took funds from Russia, after the U.S. refused his pleas for support? Or the indigenous Americans? Or any of so many other examples. I think we have had enough of hatred. Let’s celebrate diversity and spend our money to enable people. Celebrating adversity does not make us better. Politicians use this kind of thing to persuade us that no matter how bad things are, look: they’re better than That. Are they, very much? I would only support a museum that showed the downfalls of Every political “ism” evenhandedly.
