To Wanda Jean, Hilary & others holding the same concern for our rights, don’t be fooled. In the description, sponsor Rush says, “I’ve seen these alarming posts as well, but I can assure you that they are completely false. This bill does not authorize anyone to enter your home, for whatever reason, without your permission, nor does it allow the government to remove anyone from your home because of the coronavirus. Again, this bill is about providing access to testing and outreach who want/need to get tested, but currently their needs aren’t being met.”
As for the bill, yes yes YES! Spend the money it takes to save people from preventable death! The cost of human life outweighs financial loss, and these methods have proved fruitful and effective in other countries. As for fear of the government violating our rights, social monitoring in the US is a slow process assigned to human agents beleagured by the learning curve of a completely new field of work (that is also woefully understaffed). The US is a large country, and bureaucracy is also slow... too slow. We still have guns and states have begun reopening. I wouldn’t worry about rights infringement anytime in the foreseeable future.
