Do I want guns to be unavailable to anyone who have used them to commit a crime in the past? Absolutely. Do I want them out of the hands of those who are unstable at the time of ownership? Yes. Do I believe this will get guns out of their hands? No, I don't. Only people with a monetary need who see a legal way to get it will turn in their guns. We have a second amendment that gives the right to have guns to provide well trained militias. This doesn't mean everyone deserves a gun. What we need are laws that puts more teeth into removing guns from the streets and making each time it happens a larger and time behind bars longer for each owner. We need to have Homeland Security and the FBI put more effort into stopping gun trafficking and completely destroying each and every illegal gun they find. This isn't a second amendment issue. This is an illegal trafficking and sales of firearms issue. This is a doing our freaking job to keep guns out of the hands of irresponsible people issue. Question is: does our Congress have the balls to stand up to the NRA. Not everyone is allowed firearms- only those used to provide food and protect themselves and others. Once you use it for anything else, you aren't meeting the use set by our Constitution, and you should cease to have that right anymore.
