We do not need another national holiday. The United States, set out in the Constitution, is a Constitutional Republic and those who are willing to do their civic duty and put their voices into the politics of the day will do so, while others will not. Polling stations in my state are open from 7am and close at 8pm. If you cannot find a way to your polling station between those times than you are either lazy or unwilling to do anything. If you make this day a national holiday, than you are forced to cut productivity for our economy and encourage people to just take the day off. Making this a national holiday will not encourage a greater upbeat in voting. Getting people to the polls a natural way will endure more than forcing the issue by not having to work.
