Regulations are put in place to control behaviors that are detrimental to the public welfare, whether it protects the environment or public health or public safety or economic issues. The regulations we have were created in response to issues that were a concern in the past due to abuses by individuals and corporations to line their pockets. Pay attention to history, even recent history, about the recession, or the Wells Fargo financial debacle, or the Volkswagen emission fraud or train safety etc, etc. Regulations are not the concern of this bill. This bill is about putting individual profit for some ahead of the protections for the citizens of the US. Including protections for “the Hoosiers” that the sponsoring Congressman refers to. Evaluate regulations by their individual merits not some shell game trickery.
