I agree that immigrants are the backbone of our country as a first generation American. I also believe that immigrants have every right to enter our country, as long as they do do legally. It took my parents 10 years to gain citizenship because they went through the all the necessary checks before entering the country. Illegal immigrants did not do this, and are now able to remain safe from deportation in sanctuary cities. This encourages illegal entry into the country. Period. My parents spent ten whole years fighting for their right to be an American, and some just get it for free. Whether you agree with the process or not, there is a process in place. And you cannot just pick and choose which laws you follow.
