Absolutely! All of these people who served and were captured or MIA were military service members under the auspices of the military. If they hadn’t been captured, they would’ve gotten out eventually, but being captured automatically has you as serving your nation until released or dead. Each and everyone of these people deserves the thanks of this nation by retroactively paying them for as long as they were POW/MIA. As a former military member I know when our country goes to war against another but refuses to call it a war is all political. To the men and women in these “conflicts”, it’s war plain and simple. When your life is on the line against another aggressor there is no clean tidy name for it. It’s war regardless of what congress calls it.
