Consolidating duplicate programs is a good idea, but it's obvious this is designed to give Republicans a loophole to cut programs they don't like. Mark Meadows made it pretty clear in his statement that it won't just be duplicate programs, but things he deems "low-priority" and "unnecessary." I don't trust Rand Paul and Mark Meadows to feed my fish, let alone decide what's unnecessary. Not to mention adding this to the duties of the president is a terrible idea.
If we want to save money, we could start by defunding ICE and releasing the refugees in the camps, halting construction on the border wall, and reducing our out-of-control military spending. Or (and) we could garnish the salaries of the Republicans in Congress who commit obstruction of justice, hold the government hostage to get what they want even if it means people starve for two months, and steal SCOTUS seats. Let's start with Devin Nunes and Mitch McConnell, and then when we get to the end of that list we can talk about all the millionaires, billionaires, and corporations who don't pay taxes.
