I am currently a grad student getting my masters degree for a career in sustainable education with intentions of helping children and communities through food empowerment and green initiatives (provide access to clean water, healthy foods, diy sustainability systems, etc.). By the time I graduate, I will have accumulated over 100k of debt (undergrad + grad). All to enter a much needed field to help people, but also a field that doesn't pay a lot. I will be paying off this debt for the rest of my life, while likely working for a non-profit organization that has little to provide for a salary. The little bit of help from subsidized loans would have meant a lot to me. I hope that this law is passed to at least help future students.
