I agree wholeheartedly with the ideals behind bill, but cannot support at this time. Right now, we're dealing with a Congress that hasn't even figured out Public Loan Forgiveness let alone setting a plan to support tuition-free public universities. I'm also wary of this bill coming from the federal level as opposed to the state (like New York) or city (like San Francisco) level who probably thought they were "ready" to undertake this. As of now, I think the notion is wonderful, but should go on the back burner until we see some data/effects from the states and cities that are offering free tuition. But if you want to pass a bill that lower interest rates and allows borrowers to refinance at the lower interest rates, be my guest.
