So a bank that has $24.9 billion in consolidated assets falls under the umbrella of “community bank”? I don’t buy it. This is a bill designed to encourage banks to profit from derivatives, and that is what caused the housing bubble and the financial meltdown of 2008. Regulations are in place for a reason. They protect the lender, the consumer, and the country. We don’t want to have to bail out the big banks again!
