Although I’m voting yes, Im not entirely in agreement for utilizing federal funds to advance the goals of the state. I believe they should be kept separate. With that, states should be considering ALL variables that prevent poverty alleviation programs. That means systemic racism, institutional racism, and discrimination based on ethnicity and socioeconomic status. These social determinants of health are not studied or conceptualized properly, therefore, states fail when allocating the appropriate amount of resources and money to fund anti poverty programs. The topic doesn’t need to be changed, but the conversation does.
