This presents a grave threat to our privacy. If I search for cancer sites my isp can sell this information to insurance companies making my rates go up. If I search job listings my employer may see that I'm looking and fire me. We can't begin to fathom the ways that making this information available for trade puts our privacy at risk. And for what? So ISPs can make money? This represents the greatest big brother threat we have seen today. How can we live in a free society if the thought police is monitoring us? This sets a very dangerous precedent and takes away a vast amount of our privacy in the digital age. Republicans especially should be against this as it infringes on our freedoms.
