Minimum wage is not living wage. That is never the intention. We use a free enterprise economy. This means companies are able to compete with each other to make the most money. Wages are part of that effort to success. If an employer feels like they personally want to raise the wages of a position to $12/hr, by all means they can. If a employee is dissatisfied with their wage, they can seek a new job. You should not be paying someone $25k a year to flip patties and "add fries with that." Workers should want to better themselves and seek new employment to get more money. But if we allow government to step on the private sector's toes and regulate wages even more, profits will dive bomb, and more competitiveness will be lost.
