Almost immediately after the protections for Net Neutrality were repealed, our internet provider began having regular random outages. There were no reasons for these outages to occur, the weather was fine, the router is functioning normally, yet these outages still happen. This is not normal. Before this vote took place, the connection was constant and reliable for years. We cannot switch to another provider as there is a monopoly in our area. Because of this monopoly, Comcast has been taking advantage of its customers even before the protections were removed. Now that these protections are gone, they are free to extort us further and already are showing signs of doing so. Please do the right thing and reinstate protections for Net Neutrality. I understand the desire to make sensible regulations and the best sensible regulation protects consumers from the blatant extortion of huge companies like this. There is no sensible reason to remove these protections. The removal of consumer protections can only be a self-serving act to further profits by harming customers. I urge you to do the right thing and vote to reinstate Net Neutrality protections. I look forward to my own important votes this midterm year.
